GAME VIEWING The open plains and sand ridges of the Faan Meintjes Nature Reserve are covered with both sweet and sour grassland interspersed with occasional patches of bush. The reserve has been well stocked with a number of different game species, and visitors can expect to see white rhinoceros, giraffe, sable, eland, gemsbok, black wildebeest, blesbok, waterbuck, impala and springbok. Location: South-east of North West province; north of Klerksdorp. Access: From Klerksdorp take the R30 towards Ventersdorp and follow signposts to the reserve. An entrance fee is charged. Accommodation: 1 6-bed chalet; 2 4-bed chalets; all self-contained. There are also hotels and a camping site in Klerksdorp. Other facilities: Picnic site; 40-km road network for game-viewing. Open: Throughout the year Opening time: 10h00 to 18h00 (17h00 in winter). Speed limit: 20 km/h
